AWANA

Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed - Discipleship for ages 2 -12

What is AWANA

Awana Clubs at Callaway Baptist is our Midweek Kids club that disciples children through Bible verse memorization. "Approved workmen are not ashamed" 2 Timothy 2:15. Preparing our Callaway kids to faithfully follow Christ for a lifetime. Awana features games, stories, songs, and awards. A little like scouting, boys and girls earn uniforms to wear to club and work at home with their families in workbooks to memorize Bible verses and complete activities.

What's our purpose

The purpose of Awana for our Callaway kids is to teach boys and girls the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him! This is accomplished through scripture memorization and Biblical lessons designed to bring clubbers to a better understanding of how God loves them and wants them to live for Him.

Who is Awana for?

Awana Clubs at Callaway are for children ages two through 5th grade. Callaway Awana clubs meet on Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:30pm and end at 7:30pm in Building B. Awana has four different clubs for our age appropriate lessons:

  • Puggles - Two & three years old (until potty trained)
  • Cubbies - Three years to five years old
  • Sparks - Kindergarten to second grade
  • Truth & Training - Third grade to fifth grade

What happens at Awana

All clubbers report to their age group club and then rotate throughout the evening to different activities. All clubbers will experience game time, large group time (worship songs & Bible study), small group time (handbooks and completion of handbook activities), and we host theme nights once a month for bonus Awana bucks.

How do i register my child

New clubbers at Callaway are welcome any time and any week to join. When arriving on campus come to building b and ask for our Club Commanders Matt & Kelli Watkins or any club leader for that matter and we'll get you and your child pointed in the right direction. We do not charge for dues or fees as God has blessed us at Callaway tremendously to provide for all families.

How can I volunteer

At Callaway volunteers are encouraged to help in all ministries. Volunteers in Awana can help with games, listen to children recite Bible verses, lead worship songs, help in setup and clean up, or pray and assist with special events. Background checks are required to work with our kids at Callaway.
